All emails eventually come thorugh, but certainly they are not timely. Note that I have tried all the encrytion options.
Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance.' Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC1A) : 'Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Here is one of the variety of messages I have received: I do not like having to go to webmail to retrieve my messages, as it is not as flexible as Outlook, nor do I have all my contacts stored there. When I go to the Verizon webmail, I have many more messages, time stamped from before 9 a.m. Oh, I just got a second one (that's about one every 2 hours). It is nearly 1 p.m., and I have only received one email through Outlook. I can send from Outlook but only sporadicly receivie emails. But, with this workaround, we may never know.
One of these days, Verizon will probably realize what it did to create this mess for all of us and fix it. So, those emails since Feb 8 or 9 since the problem started are only accessible via Verizon. This was not a problem for me as I previously elected not to keep mail on Verizon servers once it was pulled into Outlook.Īlso, note that this takes effect once you change the Settings to forward and will not forward the Verizon emails already in Verizon mail. Note that when you do this the Verizon mail will not be saved on Verizon servers. The workaround is simply to go to your Verizon webmail and go into Settings to forward all your Verizon mail to your Outlook email address. The root issue is that Verizon changed something - probably security related - and all our Verizon mail stopped going to Outlook. I tried Microsoft support and got to level 2, which successfully implemented this workaround. And, I had the same frustration dealing with Verizon tech support. I had the exact problem being described here over and over by different people.
